GDPR File Audit · Last updated: 20 June 2026
GDPR File Audit does not collect, transmit, sell or share any of your data. The app runs entirely on your Mac.
Nothing. The app has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no accounts and no servers. It does not require an internet connection to scan your files.
When you choose a folder and run a scan, files are read and analyzed locally on your device. Text extraction, optical character recognition (OCR) and detection all happen on your Mac. Scan results, history and any reports you export are stored only on your Mac, in locations you control. The app never uploads your files, their contents, or the scan results anywhere. It only reads files you explicitly grant access to through the macOS open panel, and it does not modify or delete your source files.
The optional one-time “Pro” unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple’s handling of the transaction is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. The app stores only a local flag indicating whether Pro is unlocked on this Mac.
The app does not send crash reports or diagnostics to us. If you have enabled Apple’s “Share with App Developers” setting in macOS, Apple may share aggregated, anonymized crash data with us through App Store Connect; this is controlled by you in System Settings and is governed by Apple, not by this app.
The app is a professional tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
