Privacy Policy for OBDX

OBDX is an iPhone app for consumer OBD2 diagnostics. This Privacy Policy explains how OBDX handles information when you use the app.
Information We Collect
OBDX does not require account creation and does not directly collect personal information through the app.
Vehicle details, scan history, diagnostic results, and related content created in the app are stored locally on your device to provide the app’s functionality.
How Information Is Used
Information stored in OBDX is used only to:
- connect to a compatible external OBD2 adapter
- run vehicle diagnostic scans
- generate reports and repair guidance
- save scan history on your device
- support optional user-initiated sharing, copying, or AI handoff actions
Local Device Storage
Vehicle information, scan results, and related diagnostic content may be stored locally on your iPhone. This information remains on your device unless you choose to share it.
Sharing
OBDX only shares information when you explicitly choose to do so, such as when you:
- share an AI brief
- copy diagnostic content
- use iOS sharing features
Purchases
OBDX may offer in-app purchases through Apple’s App Store. Purchase processing is handled by Apple and is subject to Apple’s terms, privacy policies, and systems. OBDX does not store your payment card information.
Support Emails
If you contact support by email, your email address and the information you include in your message will be used only to respond to your request.
Third-Party Services
OBDX may rely on Apple services such as the App Store and StoreKit for app distribution and in-app purchases. Those services are governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.
Data Retention
Because OBDX primarily stores data locally on your device, you control how long that data remains there. You may remove locally stored app data by deleting the app, subject to any device backup settings you control.
Children’s Privacy
OBDX is not directed to children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page.
